- Released in 2003

- Does NOT support modern features like instant messaging, social profiles, or custom sounds
VCard Version 4.0
- Released in 2011 (updated 2014)
- Supported by iOS 11+, Android 6+, Outlook 2016+, Thunderbird, modern webmail
- Adds support for: multiple phones/types, social media (X, LinkedIn), instant messaging (WhatsApp, Telegram), custom dates, geo location, and more
- Better UTF-8 support for non-English characters
Which One Should You Use?
Choose VCard 4.0 if your audience uses modern smartphones and apps.
Choose VCard 3.0 only if you need maximum backward compatibility (very old devices or corporate Outlook 2007-2013).
